This is a workshop where you learn and practice the technique known as strobing. This is the use of external flashes to create professional looking images using hardware which is small scale and flexible, but when used in the right way yields amazing effects.
A great workshop if you want to or have just started to explore artificial lighting. Below you can see a video from one of our Strobing Workshop or you can look at the pictures from recent one :)
1. General Information
- Held on Saturdays
- Workshop hours: 10:00 – 17:00
- Location: ul. Solec 18/20, Warsaw
- Groups of 6 – 8 people
- Organizer provides hot and cold beverages (water, tea, coffee)
2. Workshop Program
a. Theoretical
- Theory on working with flash light: Shutter synchronization, FP/HighSpeed
- Characteristics of flash light: built-in versus external
- Triggering flash: infrared, radio waves
- Strobing accessories and equipment: umbrellas, snoot, grid etc.
b. Practical
- How to achieve hard, soft, diffused and directional light
- Modeling light (softened vs. contrasted light)
- How to light a model or an object
- Temperature correction of flash and its creative use
- Prepare a light plan (tripods, umbrellas, flash lights, radio triggers etc.)
- Individual practice with a model
3. Requirements
- Digital SLR camera (if you are using the Sony Alpha camera, please contact us prior to attending the workshop) with an external flash which can be set manually
- Basic knowledge of using your camera – corresponding to the knowledge achieved in our [Basic Photography Course]
- You can bring your own external flash to learn how to operate it in strobing mode…
4. Participation costs and regulations
Participation costs amounts to 680,00 PLN- Candidates are accepted according to their application order
- Initial downpayment is required at the time of application, final downpayment is due 14 days before the scheduled date for the workshop
- In the event of cancelling your participation on the workshop, the following applies:
- If you cancel 7 days prior to the scheduled start date 50% of the payment will be refunded.
- If you cancel 3 days prior to the scheduled start date or later there will be no refund.
- The Organizer retains the right to cancel the workshop at any time prior to the scheduled start date in which case the workshop fee will be returned.
